This was my biggest fear, that the Celtics would come out flat and the Celtics wouldn't be able to match the fast pace Sixers and that's exactly what happened. The past 2 games for the C's were overtime matches in really hard fought games, and with this being the 2nd of a back to back this makes sense, however, I still thought with so much on the line they could will this game..... they couldn't.
1st and foremost the Sixers were absolutely on fire, they came out of the gate getting every shot. Meanwhile the Celtics couldn't hit anything, they were all front rimming every shot and looked exhausted even in the 1st quarter, they couldn't rebound, they couldn't shoot and their defense was atrocious. The Celtics shot 34% in the first half, and 35% for the game and the Sixers shot a 52% in the first 2 quarters and finished at 48% for the game.
Evan Turner was a one man wrecking crew, he had a career high 26 points and 9 rebounds, and although he could be a frustrating player to Philly, if he plays like this consistently, you DO NOT TRADE HIM.
Nobody did anything correctly last night and they couldn't manage to get to the basket. It was the ugliest Celtics game I have seen in a while and it was a very impressive game from the Sixers.
