VCU coach Shaka Smart turned down Illinois' offer to become its men's basketball coach, which I think is awesome. He has built a nice program at VCU and I think he can hold out for a better job. He is just 34 years old, so he will be coaching for another 30 years. I would sit back keep building the program and when a really good program comes along he can go then. Plus, I always like when guys stay with small programs.
VCU had a great run last year, and should've been in the sweet 16 again this year. I'll never pick against them in the first round.
