The Red Sox have demoted Jose Iglesias back to AAA. There were some rumors he could steal the SS spot for opening day, but that won't be the case. I am fine with this, as I think he needs more time in the minors to sure up his bat, and with Punto and Aviles on the roster there is no reason to rush him.
I don't know why some Sox fans are throwing such a hissy fit about this. Yes, he has a great glove, but his bat is very weak. There is no harm at putting him down there a bit longer and see if he can get better, plus it's not like you can't just bring him up later if Aviles/Punto don't work out. Everyone chill out, no reason to rush guys. Just be happy we actually have good minors to bring up when needed.
