The Trade That Popped This NBA Trade Deadlines Cherry

The Warriors and Bucks have completed a deal to send Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson to Golden State for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown. Both teams confirmed the move today via press release.

I absolutely love this deal for the Bucks. I know by rule you are never supposed to trade a big for a small, but we can make an exception here. Bogut has been a walking injury since the Bucks drafted him 1 overall. Monta Ellis has been pretty durable for his career other than his little moped incident.

Ellis will now team up with Brandon Jennings to be a potential big time scoring back court. Ellis is averaging 21 points this year and will make the Bucks a now more uptempo team.

The Warriors will get fan favorite Stephen Jackson back with Andrew Bogut (who I am thinking they will look to dangle Bogut to the Magic in a Dwight Howard deal). But if everything stays the same I like what they did here and teaming up David Lee and Bogut as the softest frontcourt of all time and hopefully a change of scenery will get Stephen Jackson's head on straight. They will be a weird team, that could be dangerous.

It's good for the Celtics as they no longer have to face Ellis tonight.
