So WTF Is Up With The Knicks

So the Knicks have lost their 6th straight and I have been saying this for a while, Carmelo Anthony is the issue.

I hate Melo, I have been critical of him because he only cares about his offensive game and could care less about defense. I used to hate Paul Pierce for the same reason and once he buckled down (aka Doc Rivers), he rose up to being one of my favorite players in the league.

I also said that the Melo trade last year was a bad move. I believe in a D'Antoni run team you need to play a complete team game rather than have the offense be focused on a forward. Amare Stoudemire was the focal point of the offense and they were lplaying a lot better team ball.

When the Knicks and Linsanity was at it's height (although they were winning against bad teams), D'Antoni basically turned Jeremy Lin into Steve Nash. Lin had success with Amare, Tyson Chandler and Iman Shumpert. Now that Melo is back, the team looks confused and doesn't know what to do. Jeremy Lin is being exposed and Amare Stoudemire is back to looking lost.

I will agree that D'Antoni completely managed last nights game horribly and Carmelo needs to get more shots, but with this loaded roster that I could argue is more loaded then Miami's, I don't get what they can do.

D'Antoni is going to be the scapegoat (although I don't think he should) so I guess firing him sooner than later is a must, figuring he's gone anyways. I would also start Baron Davis and have Lin as the 6th man to add offense to the 2nd unit. And if there were a way to trade Tyson and Amare for Dwight, you need to pull the trigger.

The Knicks losing brings a smile to my face.
