So this week, the Redskins gave the Rams an army of draft picks in a 1,2 this year, and then a 1st the net 2 years to move up to the 2nd pick in this draft.
I love the move for both teams. The Rams couldn't have said no to this and the Redskins get a guy who I believe will be the best QB in this draft. A lot of people believe the Redskins gave up too much, however, they gave up 2 1st rounders and a 2nd, whatever.
RGIII has Michael Vick ability with more accuracy. He's not Cam Newton, he doesn't have that size, but he is already a more polished passer than Newton was last year. RGIII is a good kid, has a strong back ground and will be unbelievable for the Redskins. Another reason this works for the Skins is because they have a GM that isn't afraid to cut a check. Snyder will put as much talent as he can afford around RGIII. Franchise QB's don't just pop up, the Redskins just made sure they got one.
Mark Sanchez was extended to a 3 year deal.
I feel I'm one of the only ones that likes Mark Sanchez. I liked him at USC and I feel like he's a decent QB in the NFL. Since I'm from New England and the Patriots are spoiled at the QB position with Tom Brady, they have unreal expectations for QBs. Mark Sanchez has progressed significantly in his 3 years in the NFL, he went from 12 to 17 to 26 TDs a year. Pro Bowler Phillip Rivers threw 27 last year.
This deal comes on top of all the Peyton Manning to the Jets rumors, that all just got squashed. For me, next year will be the telling year whether Sanchez will sink or swim, it's his 4th year and if there isn't much improvement in his decision making (cutting down from the 18 INTs), the Jets should probably start looking forward.
