This is actually nothing knew, as he wanted out of Atlanta since the end of last season. He is pissed at the fans for getting after him, he is pissed the team and fans didn't get into the All-Star Game, and he feels he needs a fresh start. So far there are two leading teams for his services, the Warriors and the Celtics.
The Warriors make a lot of sense, because they have been open to trading Curry or Ellis. Plus, the Warriors have been looking for front court help for a long time now. The Celtics are rumored to have offered KG's expiring contract, and get Smith and Marvin Williams in return. I would love this deal, even though I hate the very thought of KG not being a Celtic. Reports are this trade has been shot down, but no word on who shot it down (my guess would be the Hawks).
My best guess is that Smith finishes out the year with the Hawks. They are in the middle of the playoff race, and the team has him under control for another year after this.
