I'm not a Terry Francona fan, I was happy he was fired and I never thought that he was that great of a manager to begin with, but there is no denying he was a part of 2 teams that won the championship. The Sox apparently asked him to come for the Red Sox Fenway Park 100th Anniversary and he declined.
As much as I didn't like Francona, I dislike the ownership even more in Henry and Lucchino. Even if he was addicted to pain meds and was distracted, it should never have been leaked. The way they handle smear campaigns after a player/ coach leaves is childish and downright awful.
So why should Francona go? Because he would get the ultimate Fuck You to the ownership. People would go nuts when he would walk out there, his presence would show up John Henry, Larry Lucchino, Bobby Valentine and for that moment, he would gain a ton of satisfaction in knowing that no matter what the higher ups think and tried to do, he will always be loved in Boston by the fans (well mostly).
I get the bitterness and understand it, but he should really bite his tongue and let the public go after all of the ownership.
