"Commissioner David Stern says the NBA is close to finalizing a deal to keep the Hornets in New Orleans with a very favorable lease, important capital improvements, intense tax benefits and a new television deal. He said the league was in intense negotiations with three groups. He was hopeful he could tell team owners at a meeting next week that the deal was done, close or that he was on the verge of a deal (Sportsline)."
Good for New Orleans if they are able to get some kind of stable ownership in there, and to be honest I'm just happy that the NBA won't be owning this team, because it just causes to many headaches (ask the Lakers). One thing I would really like to see is the NBA relocate a team back to Seattle. They have great fans and really didn't deserve to lose their team.
